This is actually great news to the fans of creed who had to endure mindless replays of there songs from the early 2000′s. This actually made me smile a little to see frontman Stapp tucking his balls in between his legs and understanding, that there is no I in team, so just shut up and learn how to bite your tongue.
The reunited Creed made their return (August 6) in Pittsburgh, with their first gig since January of 2003. Rolling Stone reports that the rockers stuck to their hits, debuting one new song, the upcoming single “Overcome” from their impending new record Full Circle.
Speaking to Rolling Stone backstage, frontman Scott Stapp said that Full Circle (due out in October) is “finished. We worked with Howard Benson [Daughtry,My Chemical Romance], and Chris Lord-Alge[Green Day] is going to mix the record. It’s very unique. Very fresh. It’s got some of the heaviest rock tracks we’ve ever done, and some slower songs, and some slower songs — straight-up-rock kind of songs that you can’t really call a ballad.”
Stapp said that lyrically, the new material addresses “my experiences. It’s about life, love, growing up, loss.” The title track is “kind of an autobiographical song,” addressing the group’s six year hiatus.
He added that he has no plans to go solo again anytime soon and that as long as Creed will “continue to treat each other with respect and appreciation, I’m sure I’ll dabble in other projects. But at the end of the day, we’ll gather together and break bread. I’m excited about the future. Life sure is better on this side.”
The Creed reunion tour continues Saturday (8/8) in Darien Center, NY.
